Stock infinity crossovers?

Hey,

I'm installing a new audio system in my 95 talon, which used to have the infinity system. I am wondering if the stock audio system has crossovers for the tweeters somewhere, or if the tweeters are simply branched off of the front speaker wires.

I couldn't find anything online about stock crossovers, so I'm assuming there aren't any. I have brand new crossovers, so I'll definitely want to remove any stock crossovers before putting the new ones in though.

I don't think that there are crossovers external from the system. It's been so long since I removed mine. I just unplugged all of the Infinity components and left the wires. I put my new amps on the back of the drivers side rear seat and ran new speakers to the locations. I got 6 3/4" 2 way component speakers for the front and ran wires from the new crossovers to the new drivers.

Just an option. The factory wires are a bit thin for really good audio.

Okay, so from what you guys are saying, the stock amp does all the filtering and there are no external filters. That's kind of what I figured. I got the car with most of the audio system replaced except for the stock tweeters, so I was a little unsure.

That's interesting because if the previous owner replaced the front speakers and not the tweeters, they most likely used standard full range speakers instead of component speakers. When I replaced mine, for the tweeters, I got factory blank caps. That's what's used when there are no tweeters and drilled the correct size hole in them for my new ones. Now it looks almost factory.
