stock fuel system with 20g whats the limit

friend of mine has a 20g on his gsx with completely stock fuel system....

my question is can he still bump the boost to 14 lbs. and under safely?

I don't know the flowrate of a 20g but I wouldn't suggest turning up the boost to high until you have a fuel tuner and a wideband to watch your A/F. I would probably keep it around stock levels until he gets a wideband just to be safe, but 14 and under, it's possible.

+1 the 20g will flow alot more air, u will hit fuel cut at 14psi with that turbo, unless u have done the maf mod

I am willing to bet stock boost would feel like 14 psi on the stock 14b turbo
 
At 10psi a 20G will barely outflow a 16G, so about all you'll notice is lag. If you try to run 15psi, however, you may be nearing the danger zone.

Bottom line- we cannot answer this for you. Air density differs, intercooler efficiency differ.....so you should log knock, long injector duty, and stop adding boost once you reach the danger zone.
 
HES got a big FMIC
and the boost isnt going past 3lbs now with the FMIC and stock selenoid disconnected
so thats the reason the Q.
should he turn it up to 10. --THATS just being safe.

An i undertstand if he just shouldent go past stock lvls without a logger
 
No, he should put stock turbo back on until he's got wideband, tuning, and fuel mods.
Then, he should find out why it's only building 3 PSI J-pipe to wastegate.
 
ever since he added FMIC IT HASNT gONE PAST 3PSI.

He must have a really large boost leak than. Go over all the IC pipes and make sure the clamps are all tight and do a boost leak test with soapy water over the areas to see if there are any bubbles.

+1 but a big boost leak would cause fuel cut because it would be metering air that it is not getting and the turbo would spin up untill there was enough pressure to open the gate in effect pulling more air through the meter that it can not read causeing fuel cut.
