I have a set of aftermarket brakes on my 97 GST....drilled and slotted rotors with bigger calipers but when i got the car they were already installed and i don't know what kind they are but my pads are worn down and i need some new pads. I just wanted to know if a set of stock replacement pads will fit onto the aftermarket brakes i have because i really like the look and feel of the big break kit but i need new pads so i don't want to have to replace the rotors and calipers as well and lose that big brake kit feel. So will the stock replacement pads fit on the brake kit? Thanks for the help.

ill take a look and try and find out but will the stock pads fit or not? I mean if i can find out the brand of the brakes i'm sure i can get pads that will fit but will the stock replacement pads fit?

Take one of the pads off, take the day off of work, and go to the local auto parts store and start comparing. LOL Until you know what brake setup you have, it is really hard to say what pads you need. But, like what was aid earlier, they could very possibly be GSX brakes. Good luck! :talon:

GSX brakes wouldn't really be considered aftermarket, they are just an upgrade from stock. He did say they are drilled and slotted, but its still possible that someone upgraded to GSX calipers with stock rotors, and then bought aftermarket rotors and pads. Are there any labels or part numbers on the bigger calipers? A picture says a 1000 words....

There's no way for us to tell you what pads will fit your setup without some more info on what setup you have. Get a name off the caliper if it has one or take some pics etc. As for the pads, no more then likely the stock pads for your car won't fit what caliper thats on there, unless its just a plus sized rotor & uses the stock caliper that has been relocated further away to accomodate the larger rotor. Like others have said, it may just be the awd "big brake" upgrade so you would just use a awd pad but without some more info & pics there's no way for us to tell you, sure this one will fit.

It has drilled and slotted rotors with a pair of red calipers....they have no names on any of them but i'm going to take the suggestion of taking off one of the pads and going to the auto parts store and comparing....i'm not sure what the gsx calipers look like but i'm going to take a look and find out
