Brakes,brakes,brakes!!!!!

I was wonder what was the diffrence in brakes that the dsm's have. i know the 93 and up models have better brakes and im fully aware of that. but whats up with people running 2g brakes and 3000gt brakes? are they the same thing? will the brackets line up the same? if i run them will i use 2g or 3000gt rotors and pads? can i use 2g non turbo brakes? please inform me on this because i can get ahold of 3000gt brakes

correct me if I'm wrong but your car has the larger diameter rotors with 2-piston calipers, right?

The AWD models have 2-piston calipers and larger rotors in the front than the FWD models. The best upgrades are probably 3000gt rotors and calipers because for some reason, i'm not sure, they are better than our brakes. And, BAER brakes are very good as well as bigger slotted rotors with SS lines. There are many options.

My 92 TSi AWD has the FWD hardware on the front with the single piston calipers and everything, and it was manufactured in March of 92. The Vfaq has a ton of info regarding the big brake conversion to 3KGT hardware. I am looking to do the same thing. I would definately consider braided SS brake lines to the calipers, it makes a world of difference in pedal feel. The thing to remember with the 3000GT hardware is that (for once) you DO NOT want the hardware off a VR-4. You want it off the non-turbo SL models. That hardware will bolt right up to our cars. I hate the brakes on my car. Even with new pads and fresh fluid, it stops like ass.
