Stock BOV louder than EVO BOV?!?!?!

SO i just got my stock EVO MR BOV in and installed it yesturday, my car is stock so i didnt expect it to be too much loder, but i drove it and nothin, almost no blow off at all?!?!?! this actualy pissed me off because the stock one was louder than this metal one.

Also i took off the recirc. tube just to see how it performed, and , its pretty fn loud. People say that your car will runn like sh*t if you dont recirculate, but i drove around for like 10 min and the car seemed to run fine, so idk what i should do.

And one more "also" umm i just ordered and intake w/ intake pipe, and i just wanted to know how that will help me hear the bov a lil louder?

Don't worry entirely about the volume of that BOV. The loud BOVs are just clearing the air...not recirculating it...

yea but see, i dont want to spend too much money for the maft i think ill just wait for the intake and then after that im going to be turning up the boost 2psi so that will help also. And eventually a 16G or 14B


would a metal recirculation tube help?

I think you are going to have a hard time finding a metal re-circulation tube. It wouldn't really help the sound that much anyways. Wait until you put the hard pipes on and see how it goes from there. You will be surprised in the difference they will make.

Everyone is telling you basically along the lines of the same thing...

I know you want the cool BOV sound, and I know its cool, trust me, I have it.
But you'll have plenty of time to vent you BOV **PROPERLY** later on in the life of modding and ugprading your dsm.

For now just recirc the BOV, and if it isn't making noise, then take the proper steps to vent it and still have the car perform.

As I already said, I ran that MAFt and GM MAS, and looking back, I wish I hadn't. The MAFt is a pita to actually tune with, and trust me, the single best "mod" for the car is tuning. You can have all the parts in the world, but if the car isn't tuned correctly for them, it doesn't matter.

I prefer to run the 2g piping setup(non blo thru) with my ECU chipped, and the stock MAS off the intake. With the stock MAS being proven to 500 plus horsepower, why take it out for another one? Unless you are seriously considering getting into the 10's, which the stock MAS HAS done, why not keep your stock MAS?

What you should really do is the following if you REALLY want to vent correctly, and still have the car run hard...

1. Get an EPROM ECU(95)
2. Get your EPROM Socketed
3. Get DSMLink/DSMChip and have it setup for vented bov(so the car runs just fine)
4. Get full hard UIC/LIC pipes
5. Go from there (14b/16g, bigger injectors, etc etc)

This is your best bet, and this way, you can do it one time, and do it right.

PS - On a side note, I'm willing to bet that at the end of all your mods, you're going to end up wanting something that will flow some more than a 14b/16g. I thought the 16g would do what I wanted, and to make 400whp, you have to throw alot of bolt on's at it, and have a pretty good tune. EDIT - Not to say that 400 isnt alot, but why stop there??

umm actualy booster-Shot...i took if off for 1 day put it back on because i hate what i was doing to my car. and no fnf hasnt "corrupted" my mind but has only drawn me into this culture of cars.

I just think its funny that you got mad that your plastic bov was louder. If I had a 2g I would just be happy I got rid of that horrible bov.

The fact that you even let it vent even though you knew it would mess with the cars performance makes me giggle.

yeah a maft sucks like ive said before if you dont want dsm link go vpc or try a maf pro for that you need a laptop for tho or go full standalone...but dont vent if your not setup for it. i bought my car for some kid who had it hacked and vented and the car ran like a pos good luck o btw theres one or two people running 9s on the 2g mass

so i put my intake on today, adn damn, it make the turbo spool so much louder, and now i actually hear my bov its not as loud as venting it, but its noticable if your driving by someone. i think the ebay intake wit my hks filter was a really good buy. i really like it. now, exhaust is next!
