Stock Alarm Sensitivity help please...

I did a search and it sounds like the stock alarm is just for the doors and hood?

but when a certain Harley Davidson rides by at night here, my alarm is always set off.

Is there really no way to adjust the system's sensitivity to those rumbles?

You might try changing the filter capacitor (silver tin can with only 1 wire) on the intake manifold. Also check for any open or bad ground connections. If that doesn't work you may have to start putting shielding on the alarm wires.

You might have already checked, but you might need to bend the sensor under the hood up a little to make a better connection with the hood. I accidentally leaned on mine and it bent down and caused inconsistent alarm issues. Bent it back and problem solved. Just thought I would add this idea.
