So a lot of you may know our Mustang dyno here at STM seems to be putting out some oddly low numbers for the mods the cars have... Well our local 1/4 mile track (NYIRP) finally had their opening day and we got to get a few cars out there to see what these numbers really mean.

This is Emery's brother (Mike Cronin) daily driven 2003 Evo VIII:

There are a few more pictures of his car here:
STM GALLERY - Mike Cronin 03 Evo VIII

I got a few videos, but the vid of the 12.0... my camera ran out of memory and stopped just short. Figures. So I made sure to post a pic of the car with the #93 to match the timeslip :thumb:

Mike also had his 90 AWD Talon TSI on E85 there... That car made 325ish on the dyno and ran an 11.99 @ 115 (1.9 60') ...with a lot of room left to go!

So, all in all after seeing the numbers compared to the real track times... not so disappointing after all... :thumb:

Now that the track is open (and once I get a REAL video camera!) you can expect to see a ton more coming out of STM in Rochester, NY!

Most times HP and TQ numbers from dyno to dyno differ due to the "drum mass" numbers used in the software to do the calculations. You might want to give Mustang a call and verify the numbers they have in their data base match what is in your software. It is possible you could have an incorrect value in your software. Every drum is different, so I bet you would need the serial number from each drum to get the correct "mass" from their data base. Something to check out just in case :thumb:

You should nickname the Dyno "The Heartbreaker" since it takes people's high hopes of large HP/TQ numbers and crushes them. LOL

I am glad, you are proving your point. Let all of the" believers" /from GT35 dyno thread/ to see that you are right. Good job.

I dont see a point being proven here.

Emery what has changed since the cam test thread? I am assuming something is different because in that thread you made the statement that this car should trap in the 130's and a 115 trap is not even close.

I stand corrected then. I took a look back at the thread and if you say it is blue then I will go with that. The pictures you have posted make it appear to be the stock black/gray color scheme but either way it is not the same car. Thank you for helping me decide on one thing. You as a vendor will not get any more of my money.

Whats up with all the hattingWTF

Either that or we are all color blind and that makes my car black!?!?

Plus that car has been repainted, you can tell because there are no badges and the skirts don't have the fade in graphics (which look ### to begin with). And the spoiler and trim at the windows is silver.

I'd like to know what color code he used when he had it painted if you guys could find that out?

I'm completely lost.

Dan's car is blue. Stock blue. That was the cam test car.

Mike's car is red. Stock red. This car runs E85- first time we've really posted about it.

Just wanted to compare how dyno numbers match up to the track times. We haven't had the blue talon at the track yet.

We're you guys super confused when you were tuning due to the low readings? I KNOW you guys don't deal with Buschur but is there Mustang Dyno read like this too?

Sounds right for a factory Mustang dyno. Our MD-500 produces numbers right in line with other un-molested Mustang units. ~300whp will put an AWD into the 11's @ ~116mph. 440whp in our '05 shop STi = mid 11's at 128mph. Bone stock EVO X laid down 212whp.
