Hey guys, ive been driving my gsx around for about a year or so, and all was well. i let it sit in the garage for about a month and went to drive it again and everything was fine, however i noticed that the shifter was stiffer than usual when going side to side in neutral. as i drove it started to loosen up but not much.

I let it sit for another month and it seems to have gotten worse. it goes into gear fine but is stiff going side to side, sometimes even gets stuck to one side sometimes. ive narrowed it down to a plunger that is in my trasmission (by taking the cables off of the shifter and the trans to see whats stiff.) Can i just lube this part? if so, what do i use? or should i be looking at something else? the car still goes into gear with ease.

Also, does the seal look correct on the second picture? should it be exposed like that?

I am actually experiencing the same problem. I havent started diagnosing it yet but am interested in knowing this as well.

I tried using pb blaster to act as a slight lubricant, and that didn't do anything. Would grease be better?
