Steering wheel transplantation!

Hey guys, I just had this crazy idea that I've been sitting on. Im sure most of you like myself have noticed how big and obnoxious the stock eclipse steering wheel is. what I was wanting to do is, I want to take a steering wheel from a new 08 Lancer (manual tranny, no shifter paddles needed, hah). or from an 06 and up eclipse, and transplant it onto my 97 GS-T.

I'd be swapping over the complete steering wheel obviouisly. Horn, cruise controls, airbag, etc.

Has anyone tried this before? I searched and couldnt find anything really. Would everything work as far as airbags go? Thanks for the advice guys, Its really appreciated!

It has been done before. The guy cut the hub on the stock steering wheel and welded it to the EVO wheel. As for the airbags. I think they didn't hook them up. Here is a link as to how to do it.
