Steering Wheel is weird

I only had my 91 TSI for about 2 weeks and drove it for less than 10 miles.

My question is, why does my steering wheel kick back so bad whenever I drive over a bump? Also, my car needs an alignment. Would this be the reason for the shaky steering?

Yes, it can be. Make sure you tell the details as well as you can to your alignment man, the specific mechanic if you can talk with him.
