Steering wheel/brake problem

Hello, anybody had this every happened to them before?

Sometimes when I'm braking both the steering wheel and brake pedal gets locked...and when this happens, the oil, brake and battery lights turn on but only for the time it gets locked. I then have to turn the car off and back on so the brake pedal slowly goes back down and then I can controll the steering wheel again. I don't know on to what the problem can be...need help.

is your car running when this problem occurs? if not, this in normal for all cars.

car dies,(motor is no longer running)

dash lights come on

no engine vacuum so there goes you power assist which my feel like a locked brake pedal

motor not rotating so neither is your powersteering pump, leaving you with a steering wheel which is very hard to turn.

if this is not it please describe your problem a bit more.

Yeah exactly, the motor shuts off, dash lights come in and the car keeps going tll I pull the emergency brake up...I don't know if that's suppose to be normal but it would suck if that happens while making a left turn on a busy intersection.
