Starts sometimes, doest other times...

Ive got a 92 talon awd. The car will pretty much decide when it wants to start.. I have power in the cab with the key turned, windows, radio, dash lights, all of it, but when i try to start the car it does nothing, doesn't even attempt to crank or turn over. We originally thought it it was a battery problem but a new battery and two new terminals later it still acts the exact same. 1 in 100 tries it fires right up, (even drove it 1200 miles home from Ohio) so I know there is nothing "mechanically wrong" PLEASE HELP

Make sure the connection on the starter is tight and the ever problematic- Clutch safety switch. I had to unplug mine just the other day to get home as it was out of adjustment and wasn't engaging anymore.

My car does the same exact thing lately. It will start when it wants and stay running when it wants. the only difference is that mine will crank over it just will not fire. I cleaned all corrosion off my injectors, started right up drove it 30 miles to work and back no issues. Then i went to go to the store, it started, and died 30 seconds later in my driveway. Now it just cranks cranks cranks but wont turn over. did you solve your issue yet?

I would look if the check engine light turns on to discard ecu issues, if it does then check if theres spark, fuel, the usual stuff

My CEL comes on for the 5ish seconds when i turn the key but i still can't figure out my intermittent spark issue. It comes and goes, so far i replaced the CAS and Coil, same issue. I am getting fuel.. the pump is good, injectors squirt. I have tried everything, and when it does run it just DIES when its near operating temp. Any suggestions? i got to fix this thing asap i've been borrowing my old man's truck to go back and forth to work. Thanks in advance

This post is old as hell but for anyone that may come across this problem - the alarm had apparently been permanently tricked into think the car was being broken into. After the whole alarm system was removed she fired up every time.

You should mark the thread as solved and I hope this never happens the security system in my 1ga has everything they offered and would be a PITA to remove!

yeah, good for you on coming back and posting the solve.

I too have dealt with security systems (stock and aftermarket) that get screwy and give no start fits.
