i just put the motor in and on first start it i had to play with the throttel to get it started and even then it wouldnt climb pasgt a grand then shuts off the motor is fully buit with a 20 g turbo and front mount it will not idle and back fires in the intake timeing is dead on new plugs wires this has been a 2 year project and im so close to being able to drive it plese help

mine did the exact same thing when my lower intercooler pipe blew off....
check all your pipes, sounds alot like a vacuum leak thats about 2.5-3" diameter LOL....
if thats not it, make sure your timing isnt 180° out. (Dowls at 12 o'clock on camgears @ TDC is where you wanna be)

Yea I had the timing checked by a second. Person the dowels r at 12 and all piping is good. Now I do have a 1g intake up ther. I bought the body of this car. As a shell. All of the small vacum lines r off and I have no idea wher they go. I looked at the cas. And wher the plug gos n at it wiggles. Could that have an effect. But it does have fire and fuel?

if your leaking alot of vacuum it will deff run like that.
do you have a vaccum gauge you can hook to it? would test that first.
im tellin you thats exactly what my car did when the LICP popped off on the freeway i thaught i blew something up for sure, it was HELLA loud.

but the dowels are at 12 and all the other marks line up still right? should be one on crank, balance shaft lower, balance shaft upper i believe.

check your coil pack
i got engine degreaser on it and it kept killing it right after start or rev
check ecu as well

sounds like a heck of a leak check your timing 180* out will cause this also I had a buddy who lost a head dude to improper timing

im leaning toward it being a fuel psi problem i orderd a new 255 walbaro and a f.p.r. i know all mechanical timing is good the fuel pump wouldnt come on whe i put motor n so i put my old pump out of my rsx in it and it got fuel just dont think i have enoungh psi. being that the rsx used a non fuel return systme and the eclipse being one that may be the problem or does that even sound feeisable?

I uhh
just got confused...
did you say rsx?
LOL....honda parts dont go on dsm, dsm parts go on honda..:banghead:

LOL yea i kno right well i put in the pump in it starts but revs slugish and thanks again for the vac. line pics helped alot but hopfullly il have a chance to work on it this weekend

just insalled fpr and 255 fuel pump for sum reson i cant get more then 20 psi will start but when it reches 5500 it cuts off could leaking injectores cause this or could the pump be leaking in the tank.

20 at the fpr the i checked it at the fuelpump and is the same i took the pump out and shoved the pump futher up the and turnd it off to the sid and used a hose clamp to hold it ther and checked it again and it read 50psi but should a 255lph walboro put out 85 to 90 psi i know the car need any wher from 45 to 65 to run good should i get a nother pump or look else wher

I had a similar problem a few years back, ended up being my camshaft position sensor.
but then again, your running a completely different turbo set up, just reminded me of when my was doing that

Do you have any codes that come up???

I have a very similar problem and researched on here and found out my p1300 code is either my Ecu or the ignition timing adjustment terminal is grounded and can be checked if you cut it at the Ecu but leave yourself room to re-solder it....if you do have this code...

Last thing you want to do is just throw parts at it, you must find out what the problem is, all this guessing is just going to cost you money and time.
do the research and see what that pump should be pushing from the nipple, then what your FPR should be set at with your injector size and correction level.
did you rewire for the 255lph:? pump may not be getting enough j0oce! :ohdamn:

do a boost leak test to make sure your system is air tight ( vacuum leaks) if everything checks out ( which it sounds like it wont; symptoms sounds like a massive leak; particularly around your intake manifold gasket) look over your cam and crank shaft sensors and make sure the magnets are not damaged in anyway.

ps. if you are unsure where all your vaccum lines go PLUG THEM. the only ones that are really nessasary are the lines going to your bov and the line going to FPR. both are fead from the intake manifold.

Never had the problem with a DSM backfiring in the intake, I know what you mean by that. Every car that I have worked on with that issue and that wouldn't rev really at all always ended up having a blocked exhaust, for the most part it was the cats that had gotten blocked. If it can't put exhaust out the exhaust pipe then it will find it's only way out, the intake.

Something you could look at.
