I did a search and couldnt find what i was looking for so.

Hear is the problem.
THe car builds full boost(10psi, at 2500rpm. i have never owed a DSM but sense the car is still running the stock gt25 i figgerd it was normal), but wont rev past 3K. in 1st gear ill got to about 3800-4K.
It sounds to me like the car is cutting ignition.
1997 TSi AWD
127K
5spd
catback
Filter.

sorry if this has been covered before but i cant find anything on it.

also the car wont idle. When it was cold it was running fine, but after it got warmed up it would stall if i let the rpms drop.
I was thinking it might be a bad MAS, sese some cars go to close loop at sertain RPM/Load ranges.

thanks
kirill

ps. this car is at my friends dealership and im trying to figgure out what it is before he takes it to mitsu. Wish i had a logger

I had a problem like this when I bought my Talon. . . I would go to accelerate and it would feel like it was hitting the rev limiter at 3k. From what I can tell, my idle switch died and was sending a closed signal all the time. . .then the ECU was cutting fuel when I got on the gas cause it thought it was supposed to be idling.

I disconnected the plug for the idle switch until I can find a donor car to grab one off of, it's the one-wire plug with a small rubber boot on the firewall side of your throttle body. . . if it wasn't 5am I'd go grab a picture for you. Just pull it off the terminal and see if that helps.

Its a boost leak. My car wouldnt go past 2000rpm. It hit like a brick wall. I had a leak in a very unusual place. My jpipe had bent from the top and because of the angle, it was very very hard to see. boost leak test just to make sure.

Thanks for your help guys.
I talked to one of my friends who has a 1st gen. and he said the had the same problem as i did when his MAS went out...
i checked the IC pipes and they all looked to be conected proberly, ill double check just to be sure...
and about the idlecontrol switch, from what i know about cars, i cant see it affecting the fuel cut(or whatever it is that im hitting at 3K). but ill check that out as well.

Thanks for your help guys
