That pretty much says it. I started it today, it ran fine, let it warm up and then shut it off. It’s very cold so I like to do this every few days. Anyway, after I shut it off about 5 min later I went back out to move it a few feet and it started up fine, but it sputtered and won’t rev past 1700rpm. This happened once to me before when i ran through a deep puddle. It throws a CEL but I don’t have a logger to check what it is. The first time this happened all I did was let it set for a day and then it ran fine... Anyone deal with anything like this before?

try resetting the ecu.. maybe that will help...

does teh car idle fine and not rev?

i had this problem once.. (not on my DSM tho) it turned out it was my alternator

hook up a voltimeter to ur battery terminals.. see if it's pushing 13 or more volts... if it's 12 or less.. ur alternator is shot...

and ur battery finally drained...

I don't this will help but, After I washed my car one day I went to drive and it wouldn't rev past 2000. I had put a plastic bag on the filter while I was washing it and forgot to take it off therfore I didn't have much air flow.

The mass was plugged in the entire time. As far as the "bag" theory goes, there was nothing in the engine compartment to "choke" the intake. This problem has happened to me only twice in 2 years and all that I've had to do to fix it is let it set over night. So it’s fine now, but I would like to fix what ever made it do this in the first place
