so im about to buy a whole bunch of parts and get them all put on at the same time. looking to spend around 2k for now. i was thinking of upgrading the turbo+BOV and fuel pump/injectors. will i need to upgrade anything to keep up with all this?

From a stock GSX, you're probably better off upgrading the intake, a full turbo back exhaust, and the supporting mods. Fuel is important though. Take a look at the upgrade path for basic Horse Power, and that will give you an idea of whats the best way to upgrade step by step. 2k is a solid chunk of change, and id hate to see you disappointed.

Do you plan on doing the rewire for the fuel pump? What about a fuel pressure regulator? Also, what are you planning as far as engine management?

and i dont really know anything about engine management im a noob =) what should i do about it?

engine management is probably on of the most important areas you can address...I would suggest doing a little research and picking up something... Good engine management will be more beneficial than any other mod... What turbo are you considering

I started with the basics air intake, then carback system then turbo and ported o2 housing, apexi avcr, then dsmlink, then evo fuel pump, then evo injectors, then downpipe, evo o2 housing, then intercooler with bov, also high flow cat, next upgrades will be clutch kit,

not sure. in the long run i want to run around at least 30 psi. what should i look into for now?

30 psi is a lot without knowing how to tune.... i would recommend EVO 16G, EVO Injectors, walbro 190lhp, WIdeband, Downpipe, Highflow CAT, EVO 02 housing, ACT Clutch, GM MAF and Translator so you can vent your BOV the right way, and a HKS, Greddy, or 1G BOV, and FMIC with Hardpiping and silicon couplers with T-Bolt clamps, for 2GRAND you should have enough for almost all of this if you look for good prices and dont waste any money with knock of brands AKA EBAY.

then your already on the right track... but im not sure if the 1g can hold 30psi if that is want you want to run but the list of parts i just stated are not capable of 30psi the 16g runs out of its efficiency range around 20psi. but you will be close to the 400hp range or more with a good tune

if you want to eventually be running 30 psi a 16g is going to be way to small to handle that...
and so will be the walbro 190lph, evo injectors, etc.

oops got to that one a little late, but yes for 30 psi you need new engine internals..
its going to be a big project, not one that 2 grand can get you..... (most likely)

Telling us you want to run 30psi doesnt really tell us anything, it only tells us you want want 30psi of pressure going through your motor, it doesnt tell us hp/trapspeed/e.t. Boost is irrelevant, think of it as a number of the percentage of a turbos "efficiency range"(if you can understand what im trying to say). If you want ideas on a turbo, use the search and see what everyone runs or Tech Guide: 2G 4G63t Upgrades - DSMtuners

P.S. By the way for whoever said 30psi needs "new engine internals", i ran 30psi on my completely stock 7-bolt occasionally.

well yes its possible to run 30 psi on stock internals.
but is it the best and safest idea to run daily? probably not...
just because it can be done, doesnt mean its safe or should be done.

Not to crush your dreams and throw out your plans but I dont know if the right question is "what turbo/inj/bov should I get?" I would strongly suggest looking toward the engine managment first. You will need to monitor any bigger turbo/inj/etc. I have seen way too many people just buy a turbo and inj and then wonder why they melt pistons and blow head gaskets. Trust me your 2k will be better invested in the engine management. Rather than a turbo and inj and then having to spend another 2k or more to fix the damage later....:ohdamn: Its up to you but that is just my .02

I would strongly suggest you stop looking at what part you are going to buy and start looking into this forum... You have no idea what knowledge it takes to safely run 400 hp unless your pockets are really deep and you give your car to SBR or RRE and tell them you want this much hp and i dont ever want to touch it... You need to know about A/Fs, injector duty cycles, some knowledge to why your car started to buck at WOT or why it seems slower all of a sudden and how to notice and change the problem, what parts work best for the money. It is ALOT more than you think LOL...

This thread will probably be closed.. There are upgrade paths you should follow bud. Case closed

I think before you can ask for recommendations on what parts to buy you need to first look at the car and define what it is you need/want it to do. Is it going to be a car with 300 HP that you never worry about, a street/strip car, or a full on race car? Once you answer what you want it to do, then it becomes easier to select the parts needed to get there. And I will agree witht he others, its a long road of learing ahead.

The Evo3 16g is an excellent turbo, As for everyone saying it is out of its effiecency range over 20 psi, I disagree. I have the Evo3 16g on the wifes car, max boost is 29 psi, that tapers down to the 25-27 psi depending on the day. Car is moving 39-40 lbs of air/min according to DSM link. The egine is a 6 bolt out a 90 GSX with 150,000 on the clock and its still going strong. Only engine upgrades were a set of ARP headstuds and some used HKS valve springs and a set of HKS 272's. We are revving it to 8000-8300. So a stock engine is pretty darn durable if it is cared for and tuned properly
