Toronto,
K well after having my Elantra parked for a while, its time to start it up....

During the time it was parked I went ahead and added a fully built 4g63 6bolt motor with a 60-1 turbo, DMBC, Tial WG, custom manifolds (in & Ex), DIS-2, 4 MSD coils etc... also swapped to a 5spd tranny and a DSMLINK system.

Just wanted to know what things I should be looking for once I start the car up?

Fuel pressure?
leaks?
etc...

vaccum leaks for one. and since the motor is fully built i would break it in. for example just put it on the lowest boost it can go on and drive very normaly. then change oil every 1500 and check for any metal or other abonormalities in the oil. also check to make sure you didn't forget anything silly like map sensor plugged in or any grounds not bolted in.

In order to break it in you cant drive at one speed for to long. Remember to change your speed (dont go on the highway for an hour at the same speed). I used to work at a dealership and I had my customer change oil at 300 miles (first oil change). That way metal shards will not be in your engine (new parts will wear).

The first thing you will want to do is make sure you are getting oil pressure, check for leaking fluids. Make sure all the bolts are tight, and you did not forget any. Pretty much, check everything over. Then once you feel safe about the fluid levels, you can move on to make sure everything else is properly hooked up, no vaccum leaks ect. ect. and so on. Once all that is taken care of, then I suppose you can move on to what the above posters recommended like breaking it in. But without checking to make sure you are not dumping oil on the ground as you are filling it or it is running, you could just break it instead of breaking it in.

Pay attention to your fuel. I'm not too sure how the dsmlink reacts to a new setup and how fast it'll bring it in tune but I had some issues with getting my motor started the first time. I figured it out that it was just dumping fuel into the cylinders and flooding the engine. So I would say try tuning everythign back. Move correction way negative and it'll help that out. This is not the only thing but it's an idea if you run into problems.

Run a boost leak before you start it up and set base fuel pressure.
