time for a motor

had the car on the dyno today and something let go somewhere not sure what yet but i do know it took out all the exhaust valves drove a stem into the head and beat a valve into 2 pistons. i have been doing some reading on the hyundai 4g63 engine and i cant find if i can use the block and head with my 2g accessories.ie...sensors injectors fuel rail and all the other good stuff. i need the car running again ASAP. me and the wifey are down to 1 car now.

Yes they are identical. hyundai uses 1g PS pump, fuel rail and thermostat and water pipe, so if you want to keep your, these have to be swapped. Just make sure its a 2.0 block, because there are 1.6L, 1.8L and 2.0L looking exactly the same. Usually, it says it right on top of the intake manifold what the size is.

The Hyundai engine differ in several different ways from the stock engine in the 2G.
-Higher compression non-turbo pistons.
-No oil squirters
-Cylinder head intake runners are smaller then the 2G runners

I would not recommend using a non-turbo engine in your turbo car.

The cheapest 4g63t i have found so far is like $1600. If i do use this engine it will be only untill i can have my head repaured and buy a set of pistons or save for another motor. Also i will turn the boost down and add more fuel incase of knock some of you may know its hard havin 2 kids and only one car so for right now im open to about any option

I ran a N/T motor that had 145k miles on it in my TSi (Complete motor) at stock 1g boost levels. Never had an issue. Ran it for over a year and a half until the timing Belt Tensioner pulley went in 5 degree weather.

In fact, someone on here logged how they ran the N/T motor at over 25psi for quite a while. Wastegate/stock boost levels on a sound N/T motor should be fine as a tempirary runner

Man I picked up a running 4G63-T 1G 6 bolt motor from a 100,000 mile gsx for like $300 from a salvage yard complete with a wiring harness uncut......Hell the timing belt was even fresh from a recent service........How many miles was on that engine you were looking at and did that include a trans? Sounds a bit high to me. have you tried Green Leef auto recyclers? they may have something and they offer warranty on the motors they sell. They're located in Dallas, Texas and I've had pretty good luck with them .....I got my E39 540I-6 with a blown engine and picked up a 4.4 liter V8 engine from them and haven't had any issues with it.....

I wouldn't rush into this one...I know you need your ride but it's best to do this one right from the get go...even if you gotta beg steal or borrow alternate transportation till you get the right engine....

The price was from lkq same thing as greenleaf. We have a greenleaf here in Ga also. It was a 100k motor
