So i got my 94' Plymouth Laser AWD Turbo and it's unmolested. i have some ideas on some starting mods but need some suggestions on what brands and items and even where to get it would be good and if you have any better ways i can do something feel free to put in your input. FYI my goals are to get around 13 second car in time. Thanks.

-So first off i need to get myself a Boost Controller and Boost Gauge. I would like to know what brands (Greddy, HKS, Turbo XS, etc.) and where to get it from is ideal from past use.

-Next i need to get an Air filter as i will be doing the custom piping myself for it. Which air filter is the best bang for buck out there? I heard multiple times that the HKS Super Mega Flow Honeycomb is said to be the best or should i just go generic with the K&N but suggestions on that please and where to get it.

-My favorite and most precise mod iam purchasing is the BOV. I was really liking the Greddy RS but if anyone can inform me of a BOV that is reliable and unique and BA sounding for a good price i'm willing to listen.

-I would like to invest in an exhaust and was leaning towards the Apexi N1 Gen 3'' Exhaust. If someone could tell me what exhaust they use and really believe it's a good buy that would be great. I just want an exhaust that sounds not to ricey but just all round beefy sound. Also where to get this and what brand would be good if possible.

-After a bit i would like to invest into a slighlty bigger turbo and it's supporting mods. I was looking into a S16G with a 190 walbaro pump, 550cc injectors, and an AFC to support the turbo.

THANKS in advance.

It sounds like you have a good idea want you want. With boost controller i would use a maual boost controller. And the boost gage, is up to you me and my brother use differnt ones, I like to read it in psi, he likes to read his in bar, i use a cheap faze gage he had a AEM gage.

this website has an AWESOME build section, just click TECH on the top part of the page and click UPGRADE PATHS in the drop down. it will tell you exactly how to build your car and the steps to do it in going from the cheaper (free) mod's to the big $$$ stuff to make your car a track monster... go through it and learn a little about how to do it because its the guys that have been down that road that wrote it up, anyone can post you a build that could be completely wrong.

now to answer your question,
your car RIGHT NOW can run a low 14/high 13 with just a boost gauge & boost controller if you know how to drive it, your stock turbo has a lot of potential. I good solid and not expensive controller is a hallman manual boost controller or MBC and an autometer boost gauge. Install is simple and the parts are reliable and unexpensive compared to some...

since your doing your own piping just a basic K&N, why spend $150 on a HKS filter when you can spend $60 on a K&N and get just as much out of it?

we've all been at the BOV "PSSHSHHHHHHTTT" sound is so BADASS!!! well, come to find out its not good for your car and actually make your car run really rich and idle rough if you don't set it up like it should be. your stock BOV is actually PERFECT for what you need it for, and its not for sound... :ohdamn: in the SEARCH at the top click SEARCH FORUMS and type in crushed 1g BOV and read the how to on it. you just evenly crush the top of your stock metal BOV and it will hold more than the stock boost and it costs you NOTHING so you'll have more money to spend on more mods down the road keeping the stock appearance under the hood.

exhaust can get expensive but you don't have to worry about the RICE sound that your talking about... i have yet to hear a 4G63T DSM sound ricey with any exhaust, and yes the Apexi N1 exhaust is a good exhaust.

My suggestion is to read A LOT on this website and see what other guys do, somethings you'll like and somethings you won't... this website gives you ideas on modding and also helps you keep your car runnings after you mod it and break it. just read around and you'll figure out what you want to do with her.

nice car btw! :thumb:

Thanks a lot Gofer and the eveyone else with their suggestions. Great Help. Got questions. Would a turbo xs dual stage be an alright boost controller? cause i have a friend that has one but he only runs low boost and it doesn't want to controll boost lower than 5 so i was thinking buy a hallman and trade him for the turbo xs dual stage.

another question about the BOV. what about if i recirculated the BOV. wouldn't that elminate or atleast slim the harms of a vented atmosphere BOV because by preference i would really like that "PSSSSSSHHH" sound.

Exhaust wise i was wondering if i could just go to a shop and get my whole exhaust re done in 3'' and take out my cat and just straight pipe it to a muffler. would that be a poor choice?

I would highly recommend you go with a MBC. Just less electrical sh!t to go wrong you know?

"Recirc"ing your BOV would completely eliminate you running lean in between shifts. Unless you have a Blow-thru setup you CANNOT vent. You'll still get your "PSHHHH" noise...no worries. It's a guilty pleasure of mine as well. :D

3" is nice but it's a little bit of overkill on a street/track car. If you were building a purely TRACK car then 3" would be perfect. 2.5" will be perfect for any setup you can throw at a street car. I have 3" turbo-back and I hate it. I scrape everywhere.

Yeah definately going with MBC. Hallman pro seams cheap and reliable. BOV wise, yes it's a guilty pleasure of mine, like it just makes me happy everytime i hear it :D What BOV do you have thatblondechik?. But for exhaust i'll take that 2.5'' to consideration cause the streets in my city are pretty ridiculous. thanks for the suggestions.

One other question. Where do you guys get all your mods. Off dsmtuners online paypal or what?

SO is there anyone out there that you know that does the dodge garage mod on the BOV's? cause i'd rather have someone do it that knows and has done it before. Cause then i just pay them for everything.
