I have a extra 1g block that I will be doing a rebuild on starting this month. I have tried to do some research on the best rod/piston combo but havent found too many specs. I am looking to hit around 350awhp (dynotuned of course) for now and I'll probably get the bug to want to go faster and have more power later on, but for now around 350awhp is my goal (hopefully a reachable one). My current mods are in my profile with the exception of Comp 1012 cams and stiffer valve springs that will be installed with my block.
I have had my mind set on 1g big rods and 2g pistons but many people have told me to go forged. The only problem is that my car is a daily driver of about 50 miles a day. I have read that forged pistons also arent the greatest on cold starts and can wear cyl. walls down quickly.
I will eventually go with a bigger turbo Im sure but probably not any time soon that I see. Also there are a decent amount of funds available for this rebuild but nothing crazy.
