With the good Tri metal clevites gone I would go with the coated ACLs from slowboy or jackson auto machine

I did my research and I found out that I would save money through slowboy going with this combo. the only difference is the piston/rod combo and the bearings.

eagle rods w/ ross pistons = 763.00
arp rod bolts = 45.00
arp main bolts= 67.00
mits metal hg=95.00
balance shaft eliminator kit=42.00
acl main bearings= 50.00
acl rod bearings= 40.00

all this would total 1102.00

I dont need the arp head studs because I already have those.
I have heard good stuff about the acl bearings like stated above but what about the eagle with ross pistons. any good or no??

I used clevite bearings on my rebuild. Eagle rods, weisco pistons .020 over. I aslo had my crank turned .010 under main & rod journal, renitrided for $110 and micro bead polished for $60. So far I have 1000 miles and no CW. ARP top and bottom. Also with an ACT 2600. I have read a lot about clevite changing to bi metal but why would a really large company with plenty of money for R+D just change to a crappy design to save money at there customers expense. Mine is holding together just fine at 18PSI. I'm sure yours will too. Just spend the extra money getting the block work done at a good machine shop. I had my block mains alighn honed. On a side note my engine never had crank walk. at 106K the #2 rod bearing spun but the crank endshaft play was still in spec.

Good luck bro!!! :thumb: I know how nerve racking it can be choosing what parts your going with for the build.
