So I have just finished a rebuild and the car wont start. It will crank but wont start. I believe it to be a firing issue but i have changed the spark plugs, tested the wires, and double checked the fuel system. Its getting fuel just fine. I have double checked to make sure all plugs are connected. Its not the ignition coil seeing as how the spark plugs still spark. I have read a bit about a possible switch that cuts fuel after major impact? doesn't seem that could be it either since fuel is flowing just fine. I'm just a little lost because it doesn't make sense to me if its getting fuel and spark but not firing... Also read a few threads that seem to indicate that a bad ground can do this? Any help is much appreciated since I've been waiting patiently for almost 3 yrs now to get her up and running, just not sure how much longer i can take it... :banghead: It is mostly stock, 92 tsi.

I noticed you mentioned you were getting spark and fuel and that it wants to crank... did you check firing order?

if firing order is correct, maybe want to check fuel prssure, if those are both good make sure you have compression and possibly perform a cylinder leak down test. check grounds

check the CAS providing this has the 7 bolt I had my 2g do that to me i broke the tip off due to my stupidity when i put the motor in and changed the sensor I didnt get the bolt in tight enough and the blade smacked the end of it off. Live and learn though.

I did a little more digging and it seems that there is fuel going to the rail but not coming out of the injectors. I'll have to go through all the grounds again. Also the... ignition... resistor pack?... was very hot to the touch so i replaced that, luckily had one on hand. (Its on the back firewall and just has a plug coming out of it, four wires to the one plug.) I haven't done a compression test because it doesn't seem to be the issue, yes I know I can't rule it out if I haven't tested it. I will be going over it again tomorrow. Thanks for the advise, btw its a 6 bolt. Oh ya, and yes I've triple checked the firing order. I have also messed a bit with the timing, no luck.
