I just installed a walbro 255, 680cc precision injectors, aeromotive FPR, and stage 3 dsm chip...........my car is getting fuel into the cylinders and a spark......when I remove a spark plug and turn it over, fuel shoots up.........and then I have tested the spark also.......but it doesen't even try to start or pop or anything.....could this be a dsm chip or ecu issue??......also my fuel pressure is around 20 on my gauge instead of 43.5........i have tried adjusting the FPR a lot and it still stays the exact same.........but I think it would still sputter or something even with not enough fuel?? any help would be appreciated!!!!!

tried a friends ecu today and she fired right up............is there any way I can find out why my ecu isnt working? I think it might be the socket job

its in there the right way.........im taking it back to the electronics repair shop tomorrow and seeing if the guy will take a look at the soldering again

just took it in.....the gut tested all the contact points and where they go on the circuit board..........everything worked and had power going through it.........so it has to be an ecu issue......how would I fix this?? just look for someone who repairs car ecu's or buy a whole new one??
thanks

I agree with Mitsu lover. Check your spark plugs after cranking a few times. Are they wet? They shouldn't be if you're getting spark. If you're getting too much fuel with that new chip installed, the plugs don't stand a chance igniting the fuel entering the combustion chamber. That would also explain why your friend's "stock" ecu DID work. To further diagnose your problem. Try bringing some of your other mods back to stock. Such as the fuel pump and injectors. Put OE back in with the socketed ECU and try it. If she runs, then well, ECU is fine!

Look for anything that is possibly fried on the ecu... even the SLIGHTEST bit of burnt looking material on the board could be a damaged lead. Use a magnifying glass as it greatly helps, and get a good light. Start looking at the copper traces on the board and make sure they at least look like they're all intact. Let us know what you find... if anything.

hah yea a couple spots look like its burnt.......any way to fix these.......i found a car ecu repair shop near me............I will most likely be taking it there and hopefully I don't have to sell my arm and leg while at it.....

they can be fixed a lot of times, but either you must know electronics to do it yourself, or pay someone that does know to do it.... also, I wouldn't let just any electronics monkey work on my ecu, I would probably opt for someone like Jeff O (dsmchips.com) or someone from here.... I believe that Steve (the moderator) may know how to repair ecu's.... keep in mind that they are not always fixable, if they're really messed up you may not be able to get the part to replace the burnt one on the board. Things like diodes and capacitors shouldn't be too much trouble though.... that and broken traces can sometimes be fixed by soldering a wire between the two to restore the connection.
