Starting issue 2000 Eclipse 2.4L

"hello i am a little confused i have a 2000 eclipse 2.4 auto i am having a starting issue and cant connect my scanner it says cant link now the funny part is i can
ground the mfi/asd relay and pouff my scanner links and pulls code camshaft sensor is the cam sensor not engaging the relay?

Sounds like the problem like I'm going through with a friend's car. Try replacing the cam sensor
