starter not cranking

Hey gys, just like the title says the starter will not crank, or even make a noise. The only noise I can hear when I turn the key is what I believe is the starter relay under the dash near the clutch pedal. This car has an auto to man. swap. So I had to put the two black wires with yellow stripes together from the neutral safety switch. Also this car has a manual steering colum, I dont know if that makes a difference or not. Any ideas if maybe I have to do something els to get the starter to turn, or is it maybe a bad starter, anyway to test it?

Check or switch the relays, if not pull the starter off and take it to get tested at the local auto parts store. Check the connections to and the ground.

It turned out to be that the guy before me put the solenoid ground on the wrong side, so the starter was wired backwards. I figured that out, because the solenoid was burning hot!
