well i started my gst for the first time in a week and it started fine, and ran for a min perfectly, the oil pressure was fine, then the battery light came on and the radiator light came on. i turned the car off for a min and started it again, all normal, then the lights turn on when i rev the engine over 1200, and stay on for a few seconds when i rev. i am a college student so i have it in a large parking lot, so i decided to move it near a light post, so i could see anything wrong in the engine bay, whn i went to back out of the spot i didn't have any power steering unless i reved up the engine a little bit, and the lights were on, i took it over in the light and checked, all my fluids are fine, and no obvious signs of anything.

i am pretty much at a loss, could it be the alternator, the belts dont seem too bad, i beleive theres about 13,000 mi. on them. my buddy had somewhat similar problems when his alternator when bad.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
marcus

Weird. This just happened to me on sat. Except on mine, the radiator, battery and brake light come on. They come on when I hit the gas and will go off when I hit a bump or brake hard.

I am going to be looking for loose wires, but let me know what you find if you figure it out. I haven't run across this before.

I won't have time to get to it until the weekend, but I will get my alternator checked out.

Edit: Did some searching and it is the alternator. Time to get a new one...

ya im pretty sure it could be the alternator, or belts, something to do with that.
i just read another thread that was basically the same problem. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149631 .so i am going to have that tested as soon as i can get time to have it looked into. i would suggest you do the same.

thanks,
marcus

sounds like a new alternator for me too, just need the cash.

Get the alternator tested. If it is faulty, FIND A MITSU ONE!!!! Our cars go through napa, autozone, etc. ones like its no ones businiess.

My voltage (battery) with the car off was 11.42. Not cool.
Started the car. Voltage was 11.42. Not cool.
Took the alternator to O'Reillys. Dead. Not cool.

I just went with the reman. unit. $129 with a lifetime warranty vs. $292.19 from satan is worth it to me even if I have to replace it a few times (subsequent ones are free).
