Mitsu really ####ed the conqeust over by putting that knuckle sized turbo on it

They have TBI and a vacuum controlled distributor type ignition. Not the greatest setup for a large turbo.

I got a GREAT deal on an 85 Mitsubishi Starion. Motor has TD06 Turbo with a large center intercooler. $600 for entire car, good shape inside and out, and motor runs good. Can I convert my 97 Eclispe RS non-turbo 420A motor with the Starion's equipment? I'm sure the plumbing will have to be reworked, but what are the specifics to make it happen, ie. exhaust, intake, etc. Any info would be much appreciated.

the only parts you possiby could use are the turbo, intercooler, and bov.

But the only part you should consider using off the starion is the intercooler. The starion turbo is most likely probably small, and the bov probably wouldn't hold much boost.

I was going the other way, putting a 4G63 into a Quest...
But I am sick of the wiring crap involved.

Ok...
1. the engine in the Starion is a 2.6L SOHC Wide block. Meaning it will not bolt to your trans.
2. The SOHC hits a power cap at around 420-460ish HP. The head becomes a brick wall.
3. The engine is TBI, yet another thing that is not well suited for high HP.

Heard enough?... I own 2. 87/89 Conquest. Both widebodies... love the cars, but also the most I have ever hated a car in my life...

enough that I am seriously taking offers for a BUILT 4G63 6 bolter... all good stuff...
