General Standalone opinions

Hello, currently in the process of building a car and wanted to mainly invest in a solid engine management system. I was playing with 6675 black box and ceddymods with tactrix cable and could never fully get the hang of it. I'm coming from no experience in tuning other than lots of YouTube and online literature. I've been torn between several options including holley efi and fueltech ft450, but really leaning towards Haltech Elite series. Was initially drawn to fueltech because they offer a fairly complete package for turbo 4cyl, but I see alot more haltech love lately. Just want a general opinion on most user friendly for a novice. Power goals will be 700awhp to start on mainly e85 and then upgrading turbos down the line. Car will be a street strip warrior (weekend cruise in, driving 10 minutes to the shop, and some trips to Norwalk).

why not go with Ecmlink or an AEM

Aem infinity is what I would choose. I just installed one in my friends supra and cannot be happier. I will be making the swap from ecm v3 to aem infinity this winter.

I've always heard the AEM wasn't super user friendly and as far as ecmlink, I looked on their site and seems like alot of options are not available right now or on backorder. Really was considering a new universal or direct fit harness just so I wasn't going to deal with twenty four year old engines well.

There are a lot variables here that you'll have to consider. Do you want to make your own engine harness? Do you want a plug-n-play ecu that wont require a new harness? Does your local dyno or tuner like the ecu you want etc?

I've only used Link G4+ and Ecmlink but one I've briefly looked into other ones like Haltech. Ecmlink is just by far the easiest to setup. It's like being on training wheels compared to anything else. Fueltech is cool because the ecu itself is the dash so you could have basically a free electronic dash. Link G4+ plugs directly into your existing wire harness and is by far the cheapest stand-alone ecu. You can be running on one for less than $800 if you buy it used.
