:dsm: i own a 1995 gsx auto. with no mods i can't do any upgrading until i get rid of this stalling problem. i've already looked at the vfaq's and found nothing that would be of any help.i adjusted the biss, did a complete tune up, and even changed the o2 sensors(i was using a ton of gas). and tested both the tps, and the isc (both were good).

here's what happens when i pull to a stop after driving about 20-30 minsthe car starts to buck violently, while the rpms jump from 200 -1000 rpms, and dies. but when yhou restart the engine it fires up fine and runs good until the next light(like nothing happened).

it's been to the dealer, and another shop so far i've spent about $1500 without any results. any help would be greatlt appreciated.

Thanks

i may have just found out what it was with my car anyway, the speed sensor. The bottom side of it where you cant see from looking down onto it was all corroded and rotted away. making up a custom one now and gonna seal it closed so no more water can get in there.

well turbonawd "robert" gave me the correct answer it was the mas connector.(corroded and dirty on the inside) I cleaned the connector with rubbing alcohol, and a toothbrush male/female sides, and sprayed a little silicone lubircant to waterproof it, and it hasn't stalled since.i've driven it for about 300 miles( in heavy traffic, and the open road)

I'm greatful for all your help with this problem.:D

who knew? anyways you're all invited to mah house for thanksgiving

lemme guess a huge "mugen" sticker would be perfektXD

hey i'm half asian, and half white....does that mean i can go show, and go? or does that make me "#@%#@%#@%#@%" asian? hmmmmm.

you know what the turbos' on big rigs make me jelous...

damn...so that was it huh? a dirty maf sensor plug....LOL...these little things..

im having the same problem with my 1st gen...i think its the fuel filter...but im going to clean the plugs tomorrow and see if that is it....did u wait for it to dry first b4 firing it up or did you just clean and plug? how did u go about doing this? like step by step how did u clean them? (just pour some rubbing alcohol on the plug and brush away? [im being precise for the sake of the thread[) ..plz reply as this is a COMMON problem which needs to be eliminated...thanks

that's pretty much about it. i soaked the toothbrush with ordinary rubbing alcohol and brushed it clean.i waited a few minutes before reinstalling the plug and fired it up to make sure it idled ok. so far i've put about a 1000 miles on the car since doing the cleaning and i haven't had any problems.

side note: my car does seem to get better milage, although i need to readjust the biss to compensate for the low idle speed(about 600 - 700 rpm)

as for the fuel filter that was the first thing i changed. (should be done about every 20k- 30k miles anyways.)

lemme know if this helps.

thanks bro....im going to change my fuel filter this sunday and clean the plugs as well...

SO VERY GLAD you got urs to stop stalling...hopefully these things:

1) cleaning maf sensors
2) fuel filter
3) ISC motor

are the cause of this freakin g4y a55 problem with stalling...appreciate the help bro...latez

i had a similar problem my 95 tsi sputtered on take off and nearly stalled at stop signs and red lights. When i made it bake to my shop the next day i started to check the spark plugs and plug wires the #1 plug was loose ( one closer to the timing gears ) so i tightened that little sucker up replaced wires and she is running fine. turbo plugs need to be good at all times.
