2G dies at stop lights

I have a 98 GSX AWD and I'm having problems with it dieing when I stop. It starts and idles fine but once I start going and stop it drops low about 300-500 and dies if a I don't hit the gas. It only happens when the car has been warmed up. If i start it up and go right for a drive I have zero problems. I looked around on the forum and can't find my issue. I checked the Idle Speed Controller and thats good to go. Any Ideas? And no its not crankwalk...

Wasn't paying attention to dates my bad, but there has been no resolve. But fuel cut happens under boost, not as your coming to a stop... Started out similar but the fuel rail issue isn't relevant. But do suggest the same to him, check the vacuum diagram.

Once again, re read the first part of his post, before the first section of bold... fuel cut AND dying when lets off the throttle.

Now that we are on the same page, he also stated his issue with hooking up the fuel rail.

Reading and comprehending everything in a post is "relevant" when giving advice.

Srt4, also, check to make sure that your bov is recirculating back into the intake. If its not, that's what is causing your wideband to "drop" (rich spike) and it kills itself. You could post a bay pic and we could try to determine if any vac/boost/bov lines are routed wrong.

Sorry for the delay. Nothing but snow, haven't had the time to take the picture. This car was at one time running good, before the injectors where swapped and the smaller 20g got put on so it needs a tune for sure. Trying to find an affordable one currently. Found the exhaust leak, its right on the flex pipe weld. decent amount of leaking... I know now that i got screwed pretty good on the car, but hopefully it wont take much to get it going again. Anyone in the Detroit Michigan area know a good dsm shop? Finding a lot of places don't do "drivibility issues" as they keep getting told. Found a few but at $150 an hour id rather just wait for snow to melt a bit and bring to my work shop. I will get those pictures soon as im able.

Your best bet is to work on it yourself man. Its sad to say, but if you can't, you should probably dump it. Not a lot of shops are trustworthy or really know what they are doing unless you pay big money at a specialty shop.

Just meticulously go through it, make a list of things that need attention and start tackling them one by one.

Yea, I can work on it myself, just little time with a new born . The shit part is how expensive tuners are for these cars .... I went dsm because of cheap parts , one thing i need and its pricey as shit go figure !


For e85 to run without any problems, i need braided fuel lines that go straight from the tank?? Anyone know?

SRT4's you could run e85 with a tun e and bigger injectors, im not sure if its just that easy with these older cars. Anyone?

You want injectors larger than 1000 cc and a tune.

Also, you can buy cheap parts for any vehicle. Its the quality of the part that gets sacrificed when you buy cheap stuff. So saying you left a cheap turbo car (str4) for another cheap turbo car that's ten years older wasn't really the right mentality, its got ten more years of abuse and people jimmy rigging cheap parts to it.

I wouldn't be thinking e85 till you figure out all your other issues, otherwise you'll be another grand in the hole and it will still run like crap.

I had same problem on my spyder gst I put black IAC and never had the problem again but I did check boost leak and all first

I'm having the same problem also but my intake pipe is non recirculated so i dont have any outlets .. to recirculate my bov
