Alright heres what I got going on when I start my car up when its cold, or after a do or just sometimes I havent started it in a few hours, I start to go and my car makes these crazy loud squeeking noise, I think its the belts but im not sure? Anyone know what could be happening and if so what you would recommend getting it replaced with.

Belts sound like the problem, they are like 20 bucks for the alternator belt and like 15 for the power steering belt, and i dont know how much the AC belt is. Will probably take only about 30 minutes to replace them, maybe a little longer if its your first time. Make sure you tension them very well, i didnt tension mine correctly and they ran fine for a day then squealed like a banshee the next morning. Anything but Gatorback belts work great.

Be sure to check your harmonic dampener (crank pulley). The rubber in it can deteriorate and allow the outer ring to slip. Check and see if it is loose or make a mark with some white-out, drive the car a bit, and if the line doesn't line up thats your problem. I had this happen on 3 of my DSMs.

Do your belts look worn?

If yes replace and adjust tension.

If not just adjust tension and see if that helps.

thanks for the info everyone, I will let you guys know the outcome tomorrow. (my day off) Finally get to work on the eclipse
