I thought Id post this in the Newbie froum as it is too broad of a question for the others

The problem with the cars is that its drives fine but randomly while at 3k or so the car will start to sputter and misfire and loose all power all the way to redline but if I let the rpm's drop to under 2k it resets itself and then runs perfect again?!?

I have replaced the MAS, BL test, swapped tb's, New Bpr7es plugs, swapped coil packs, new plug wires.

I dont know what else it could be any ideas would be cool. Thx in advance

Misfire condition and sputtering, I had the same problem generating in my car right now. It sputters when I accelerate after 2nd gear and when I cam creating boost to redline.

Its a classic symptom of sparkplug failure but you said you replaced them.

It might be a fuel issue. Is your pump receive enough amperage? You can also check to see if you fuel injectors are puling. I am pretty sure you need an oscilloscope for that.

Before you go an start to replace other components, I would start with a DMM and start to check your ignition system, and wires. There can be resistance in your ignition system.

What did you set the plug gap to? What boost do you generally run? Pull one of your plug wires and see if there is oil in the plug well.

Have you recently gassed up? What octane do you run on?

also while your at it do a compression test, a small fracture in the headgasket could throw off your compression, do a cold and a warm compression test.

check for any arching in any wires, bad grounds, and or bad battery terminals could cause a loss of power in peak engine conditions

Gapped to .029, running 22lbs, fuel pump is rewired. I checked all plug wires and the plug wire on cylinder 4 was covered with oil!?! Bad hg? Bad plug? Any ideas?

22psi? Turn it down, unless you have a fancy fuel management system and good fuel, and re-gap your plugs to .022. (probably most of the problem will be fixed with the re-gap.)
The oil on #4 is probably just from a leaking "valve cover gasket", one of the rings around the spark plug part of the Valve cover gasket.

Evos can run 22+ psi on normal pump gas with a flash, depending on the set up, but the 1G, and 2Gs don't like it so much. The stock computers are not as good, and the ignition isn't as good. (Yes there are always exceptions to the rule.)
