2G Spring found on top of transmission

While replacing the front motor mount I found this spring sitting on top of the trans where the shifter cables are hooked up. Anyone recognize where it’s from?

Do your reverse lights work? It could have popped out from a broken reverse light switch.

It doesn't look like a spring from the transmission itself. The shift rod detent springs are much thicker than that one and I can't think of any other springs for the transmission.

You might be right. I did replace the reverse light switch.
