spiking issue please help!!!!!

hey guys, i have a good set up and it holds at 19psi and dumps everytime. my issue was that i put in a frontmount and piping but i need to tig weld the ends of the pipes so that the couplers have something to grap to. so i put the stock stuff back on and now my tial external doesn't wana work. it spikes like crazy. i had no issues the other day. its been running top notch for 2 1/2 years now it wont work. had a friend tell me it could be the spring. i have a hks ual stage controller and all my lines and connections are fine i double checked them all. it goes right by 19psi with no thought. help!!!!

Run a vac line from your intake manifold to your wastegate and see if the car runs at the set boots level for the spring pressure.

If it does then you know your wastegate is working.

yeah but what happens if i send too much pressure?

It won't be any worse than it is now. It should run at whatever the spring rate in the gate is that way, mentioned above. It is just a check to see if it is infact that gate that is the problem or not.

what if the spring is rated for 40 lbs is what im asking. thats not gunna be good

Do you know what boost level your spring is set for?

With a solid vac line run to it, from the intake manifold, it should hit that boost level and stay.

If it goes to high. Then the problem is with your wastegate.

There are multiple things that could be wrong with it.

You cannot run less boost than what the spring pressure is. ie. if you were running 19psi on it before, it has less than a 19 lb spring. If it runs higher than 19psi(and I would guess the spring is no more than14psi or so) then the wastegate is the problem. If it keeps the boost down, then the problem is elsewhere.
