my speed gauge is not working well, a starnge noise is coming out of it sometimes, and sometimes it shifts to 100 miles while am driving at 30 miles.

what is the problem? i have to change the gauge or fix it? or i have to check my speed sensor?
thanks

sorry no pic. i would think its the sensor though. If you have one of the manuals if should be in there if im not mistaken. If the cluster was bad it wouldn't move at all. Right???

ok to find the speed sensor you need to take off the pipe leading into the throttle body look down behind the intake manifold and on the transmission near the transmission mount will be your speed sensor it is one 10mm bolt you need a very small ratchet to get in there its kind of tight. there are two parts to the speed sensor a teflon or plastic wheel on a spinning rod if you can take this wheel off time to get some heavy super glue or atleast thats what i did and then you got the actual sensor for that pay a visit to your local mitsu dealership its like 85 bucks i'll try and get some pics if anyone needs them

Yea, i don't think its the cluster itself. Here's a picture of how it looks like, attached to the tranny. It is a pretty hard cable that runs fron the firewall to the tranny itself. The cable attached to the tranny its attached underneath the throttle body more o less. Here's a picture.
