Speedo problems in a 2gs-T

About 6 months ago I had gotten my tranny rebuilt by a local Auto tranny shop with a excellent reputaion. When they rebuilt it, I re installed it and wasn't able to get it to drive in any gear but D (3rd gear i guess) I took it in to them, they got it going a couple days later and I thought everything was good. As I left the shop after picking my car up I noticed that the speedometer wasnt working. Being the busy guy I am, I wasnt able to get back to the shop and eventually just got used to driving without it. Kinda kick myself in the butt for this now because as the other day I got a Speeding ticket, thinking I was going slower than what I was. Does anyone have any possible solutions that would get my speedometer going again? I have alredy checked the Speed sensors connection on the back of the tranny that is geared to the differential. I Replaced this part during the rebuild because it had gotten broken. Any help would be great

I also forgot to add if this is important its a 1997 GS-T with a Auto (obviously)
