So here's my question.

I have a bolt going through the hole where my speed sensor drops into the transaxle. This bolt doesn't allow me to put a speed sensor in the hole.

What the hell is this bolt doing there?!

Impossible LOL. Just picture this...

The hole where your speed sensor drops into the transaxle. Let's just say that it sort of resembles a "neck". Half way up the neck, a bolt, for whatever reason, was driven all the way through, preventing me from putting in a speed sensor.

The VSS should look something like this...

There is a bolt that holds it in, but that is off to the side of the main hole where the VSS drop down in the transaxle. If that side bolt is in there, just take it out and reinstall it after you have dropped in the VSS.
If you are saying that there is a big bolt in the hole where the VSS goes then try to get the damn thing out so you can drop in the VSS.:D

I can't seem to get it out haha. It's really in there! I'll get under the car tonight and see if I can see either side of the bolt. I just don't get why the bolt is there in the first place.

That's the thing though...

I bought the car about a year ago and the speed sensor was broken. I went to go put a new one in, and the old one was stuck solid. I took it to a shop and they couldn't even budge it. Then one day, a buddy was working on it and he finally broke it loose. That's when we discovered that random bolt. The bolt had actually started to thread into the old speed sensor and that's why it was so hard to remove.

Any ideas how to remove this? It's broke apart from the rest of the bolt. It's loose enough to move, but it's currently crooked.

That's no good. Alright your probably going to swear a hell of a lot in getting this bolt out. What I would try would be to get a cabled pick up tool (claw type, or magnetic) that fits in the hole easily and see if you can push the bolt over a bit to grab a hold of it by one of its ends and you should be able to remove it slowly. Be patient, you may have to use something even skinnier like a coat hanger to see where your moving the bolt around to get it in place for the magnetic claw pick. Good luck.

It's actually not loose enough to use a coat hanger or anything like that. I know it's loose because it has moved since I uploaded that pic. To beak it loose, I used a thin crowbar and a hammer and that's how I got it to break free from the rest of the bolt. But since it's at an angle, it's stuck in there pretty good. And trust me, I've already done my fair share of swearing.

Currently, here's what I'm attempting...

I took the right bolt that holds the battery down (it's about a foot long and has a little hook at the bottom of it). I was able to put that bolt down the hole and sort of loop it around the bolt. I put it towards the more angled side to hopefully break it loose and pop right out. I connected a cable to the battery bolt and am attempting to just pull as hard as I can. So far, nothing. But it's literally the last thing I could come up with.
