im sure this has been posted before. i have read threads of the same problems but didnt help me out. i have a 97 eclipse w/ a 420a. long story short my speedometer does not work. i replaced the speed sensor, pigtail to the speed sensor. checked the harness for a complete circuit. checked the gear in the transmission for any play and to see if i could move it( no play and couldnt move it with my fingure. i tried a speed sensor out of a 5-speed neon and still didnt work. only thing i have not tried was replacing the gage cluster. i just dont see how that will fix the problem. and i didnt replace the harness considering it is getting power. i dont have a cel on but i ran for codes and its pulling a code for the vss. so im sorta lost on what to do next. its getting really annoying guessing my speed based on the gear im in vs the rpms and how fast everything is going past me. so far ive been good with it. but i dont want to keep chancing my luck. any help would be great. thanks

Get a different cluster and get that ruled out if it's not the problem. Doesn't sound like you have much left to test...
