My speedomter stopped working awail back and then about a week ago came back on, and every once in awhile will randomly go out again and the come back on after stopping for a minute. It seems like the speedometer only goes out when get on it, or when i hit a real hard bump. I was wondering was there a ground wire to the speed sensor on the trans., or has the speed sensor gone out completly? Thanks

I used that diagram that you gave me to find the speed sensor and that was the thing thanks. But now I have another problem the reason the plug is coming loose is because the transmission mount that is around the speed sensor is cracked, is there anyway to replace this mount with out pulling the motor and trans. Thanks again

It can be done...it's just a PITA. Here's a shot so you can see how easy it's done on paper.

It's easy to remove the battery and "stand". Something to help support the tranny. A combo of working above and below with a little cussin' thrown in and you're done.

And this is just an idea of what the tranny side of the mount looks like.

I had the exact same problem. The bracket was cracked in half and I was practically crying thinking that it would be a pain in the ass. In actuality it wasn't too bad. I had to take the battery and battery stand out. Remove the upper intercooler pipe and just move a few wires around and that was it. The mount as far as I know is used to help prevent "roll" of the tranny so there is no actual weight on the tranny. You should put a jack under is as a precaution but its easy to take out. There's 1 bolt that is on the motor mount side and 3 bolts on the transmission side. Getting leverage to crack those bolts loose is the hardest part. Let me know if you need anymore help.
