I bought my car with a bad spedometer. The problem is when i am driving at slow speeds it reads 40 MPH all the time. When i drive faster it jumps up to 60 MPH and stays there. Is this a problem with the VSS? if so where is it located? Thanks for the help guys!

I would just go to the closes junk yard find a 2g that you like and get a different speedo if it don't work take it back dont know if Yakima has any but your close to me come to Spokane get one from spaldings they have like 30 in there yard at all times. If that doesn't work check the cable make sire its not shredded.

There is no cable on a 2g. It sounds like a ground issue to me. It could also be a problem with the speed sensor. First i would un hook the connector and make sure that there is no corrosion on the terminals.

I checked the connection. Looks fine to me! i thought i should include as well the guy i bought the car from said it broke when he had some track time going 160. He said he let off the gas and the needle just hung straight down then popped back up. Ill pull that sensor off i guess and inspect it!

Also i have looked in all the junkyards around here my town!! there is only one eclipse in a yard and its a 1990 :/
