Im getting the motor mount kit http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=131901&cat=1303 and iv'e seen how to put them in http://www.plymouthlaser.com/fmount.htm but see how the front mount is in two pieces? My question is that my front mount is torn pretty bad, bad enough that the bolt that goes thru is pretty much laying on the bottom of the mount frame and the transmission is on the crossmember. So is this insert going to work or do i need a new stock mount to put the insert in? Also do they sell just a solid mount like the driver and passenger side ones for the bottom?

Boy that mount sounds like it's in pretty bad shape. I don't know if anyone can say for sure whether or not the inserts will add enough structural support to allow the mount to retain it's intended shape (referring to the rubber inside of it). As I'm sure you've noticed the front inserts come with two large washers which help keep the inserts from being squeezed out of position which will help.

Having said all that I would replace it. If the inserts don't add enough rigidity to make up for the tear then the unwanted movement will in turn put extra stress on all of the other mounts causing them to potentially fail.

Just buy a second rear insert and put it in the front, they are the same size and all will bolt right up with no problems. I got mine from Summit.
Edit: I see you have a 2G, This worked on my 1G and I can't say that the 2g has the same size.

It won't work on a 2G. Although the diameter of the inserts is basically the same the contoured portion which slips in between the vacant portions in the stock rubber pieces is shaped differently between the front and rear.

ok i bought a new front mount today and a quick question.... this kit http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=5.1103&cat=1303 is for the front and rear mounts on the bottom only right? or am i mistaken?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say the front and rear mounts on the bottom only. The are only two total for the front and rear, both of them located on the center member (these are the two that you will be using the inserts with). I guess you could say that they are located on the bottom relative to the tranny and timing belt side mounts which are located higher up.

BTW, the rear one can really test your patience to install unless you have the tranny removed. Do some searches and let us know if you are having difficulty. :thumb:

sorry but yes i mean the ones on the crossmember was just trying to be specific (didnt work well) ok so those insert will work on them cool. im gunna check out the rear mount, if it's bad then damn i'll try. but here is my front.... not good and how the tranny sits on the crossmember....
