1G Speaker sizes on a 1GA?

I wanted to know the speaker size for the 1Gs both fronts and back. Also whats a decent set of speakers to power with a small amp?
 
Dash is actually 4T, which sucks. Its basically a 4" speaker with only two mounting tabs. I bought a 4" set and dremel'd off two tabs. The doors are either 5 1/2 or 6 1/4 I believe. The backs are either 6 1/2 or 6x9. I dont know if theres a pattern to which you get on any of these. You will probably just have to look at each one and see for yourself.
 
what speakers would you guys recommend and what speaker sizes are you guys using?
 
I thought the rears were actually 5 1/2, and that the covers for them only make them look like 6x9's?
 
I replaced all my stock speakers (got rid of the 4Ts in the dash) with Infinity referance 6.5's powered by and alpine 80x4 amp. the difference is night and day. If your going to have a sub, I say replace all the speakers with 6.5's (and ditch the dash speakers), but theres not much available that will fit in the rear because of how shallow it is. if your not getting a sub, then go with 6x9s in the back (better bass, but sacrifice a lot of mids and highs) and 6.5's in the door.

Also, to the original question, my car (92 with the radio/cassett sound option) had 6" in the rear and doors, and 4Ts in the dash, but from what Ive heard, its pretty much a total grab bag as far as what 1gs got what speaker combinations.
 
On my 92' talon fronts were 6½'s or oversized. and back are 6 3/4's and front dashers are 4"
 
I changed all speakers in my 90 Laser, fronts were 4", doors were 5.25", and rears were 6X9". I prefer Cerwin Vegas or Infinitys. But I wrecked my Laser on the 4th (yesterday) so it doesnt matter now :cry:

It's really a 6 3/4 inch speaker. Like dsmtrouble said, Pioneer makes them. Most GM cars came with this size. You can either search for 6 3/4 or 6 1/2 S.

Well, I was going to part the car out, but I work part time for the body shop that is rebuilding my classic stang (hah...muscle freak/ricer, what a coincidence) and he said that the subframe was fine just the engine bay would need some hammering and thatd it be a nice job for me to do (im 16)...neways, i need to get a new fender and a driver door-possibly a bumper but we're unsure yet, i sideswiped a 3/4" steel pipe and a telephone pole at just over 50 on a blacktop. neways, looks like i might keep the car and hopefully will be back in commision in a month or so. :thumb:

Thanks man, I hope it turns out well, will be my first work on subskin, everything else has been dent pull on heavy gauge metal 1/4 panels (predominantly a resto shop) but am hopoing for the best :laser: :cool: :laser:
