Decent Speaker combo on 1Ga

Looking for a decent speaker combo for my 1Ga. Not looking to burn a hole in my pocket. Just looking for decent sound. Any recommendations?

If your not looking for a big hole i guess sony would be ok for you.
I went with...........
2 Rockford 6X9's
2 Rockford 6.5's
2 Infinit Kappa's (the tweeters)
Then the Punch stage 3 subs with a new kenwood 1500 amp. It rocks. The speakers without the subs though give high quality and volume sound. I love um. Alpine and Pioneer are good to go for. Buy from ebay. I am sure some of the stuff I have bought is stolen. I got way to good of a deal on the stuff.

I second the motion to buy from ebay. If you've bought anything from ebay before, then it will be easy for you, but it's probably the best place to pick up a good deal on speakers. I'm completely re-doing my 1ga in Infinity speakers. Going with 6-1/2's in the doors, 6x9's in the rear and 4's in the front. (plus 2, 10" and 1, 12" subs in a custom fiberglassed box where the rear seats were).

If you're not looking to spend alot, but want decent sound...don't go with sony.

Some pioneer 2 ways in the doors and in the rear is probably what you're looking for. A friend of mine just got 4 for about $180 CDN.

Sounds pretty good for what he paid.

This probably won’t impress anyone but……my total cost to replace all the speakers was less then $20.

I installed some OEM replacement Pioneers (6x9 rear, 6” door) I had left over from a Pioneer CD head unit “combo kit” that I bought at Walmart. At the time I did not need speakers but the kit was less expensive than the head unit alone. I call them OEM replacement, since they only have the paper cone tweeter center. I then discovered a set of 3.5” or 4"? two way Pioneers in the dash of a 1G at the junkyard, with bass blockers installed. So I happily removed them and put them in. I just have the stock radio cassette, with the 10 band? EQ, and it does not do a bad job. Someday, I will replace it with a Pioneer CD head unit, but for now, it sounds OK.

tsk tsk tsk... you're going to cancel out some of your frequencies miss-matching drivers like that! make sure (if you're making) the fiberglass enclosure that it's properly tuned to the right Hz or you'll have even more issues with the 12's distorting the 10's sound waves
