Ok my number two cylinder is smashing in the spark plug really bad. I just did the time and it is set perfect and I dont understand why it is hitting it. And its not a little hit it really is smashing it all the way down.

No I didn't hear the knocking first which was the weird part. I had the engine off retarded the timing with the crank angle sensor and when I turned it back on BAM. Maybe they had it all the way advance for that reason who knows.

I know these engine in and out but my neighborhood doesn't allow open hoods its a $800 fine. Plus i dont have an engine lift to mess with it. Since i do believe the rod bearing is out i think it would be better to just rebuild it but like i said I cant do that right now. So really Im not that lucky I guess my 5th talon is not the charm haha.

Am I missing something, or was everyone asking him questions that he already answered? I mean, he said the car was running and BAM, and he said he used a magnetic pen, and he said it was rebuilt.

Either or, my suggestion is to just find another engine. I am doing that as we speak with a Civic. It toasted a rod bearing (actually 2 of them), and we're sticking a new engine in it. Sooo much easier. Or sell it for $400 or so. That's what I did with my Saturn when it keeled over.

Woo!....must live in housing complex that has "an Association" in charge to have that kind of a hefty charge just to have a hood popped open....

not a housing complex just a neighborhood where the houses are worth alot and they arent to fond of things like that, stuck up rich people if you know what im driving at
