Did the search but could not find my answer. Recently switched to NGK bpr7es plugs wich I gapped at .030 and have ran them for about 4-500 miles and decided to pull 1 and check it, it is a whitish grey coulor wich seems to be running lean. Can someone give me some insight and maybe a fix. I have a 97 gst with stage 1 mod's minus fuel management and bigger turbo.

Thanx

spark plugs are usually some what white, when they are completely white you know you have a problem.

Plug cutting (reading plug deposit colors) is pointless on modern closed-loop, fuel-injected engines running whatever the hell that crap coming out of the gas pumps is. But you don't have enough on your engine to be running 7s well, and should stick with 6s other than track use.

Thanx for the answer, tried to get an answer on other sites but had no luck. Should I stay with the .030 gap on the 6s.

Thanx again

Shop manual say anywhere from 0.028-0.030, although I've noticed that most people on this site swear by 0.028

Gap them at .028, plugs wear slightly with time so the gap is only going to get larger.
Thanx
I see you live in New Market, I lived in Mississauga from the age of 12-22. Was a wild place to spend those years growin up since the drinking age is 19, I miss the Night Life Toronto has to offer.
