so today my coil pack went out on me, no biggie i took the one off my Talon and put it on my GST. the car fired right up, idled and drove fine. every time i try to get into boost, 4 maybe 5 pounds, the motor sputters really bad. i let off the gas and it goes back to running just fine. i rechecked all the connections and what not and everything seems fine. i im stumped on this any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
 
Make sure the vaccum line to the fpr is connected, and/or not kinked anywhere, as that can cause sputtering at any given boost levels!

To the OP: boost leak test. do you have a boost gauge? what does it read at idle?

To twotall, you changed a lot on your car, so start with checking what changed. sounds like a boost leak. Same advice as the OP
 
i idle at -20lbs. on the way to work today i played with it some and could get it up to 10lbs before it cut as long as i was easy on the gas. i visually looked over the couplers and what not. I also checked the vacuum on my AFPR the line was ok and had good vacuum on it. I did notice that my fuel pressure is at 25lbs. i need to fix that but it ran just fine before the coil went out so that cant be it. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll keep you posted as i try things out.
 
yea i have DSMlink V3 i plan on posting a log as soon as i can but works been crazy i haven't really been able to touch it since i started the thread. Ill see if i can figure out the whole 'link thing as soon as possible.

i just tried to take a log and kept getting "no response received". Im reading up on this now but if you have any pointers ill gladly try them.
 
so i replaced the coil pack that went bad and put the original one back on the car and it runs just fine now. thanks for all the advice.
