ok, i've searched a ton and just have a quick question. I've just swapped in a jdm motor into my 96 gsx and am not getting spark from the coils. It was pulling code p0335 and my scanner said that it was a crank angle sensor malfunction. I changed out the sensor to the one from my old motor and no difference. My friend let me log on to his alldata account and it said that this code could also be from a bad ecm. Do you need a different computer to run the jdm motor, or could this just be a coincidence that mine went out? Is there anything else I should check out. There is power getting to the coils, but I get no spark. I'm going to be able to try out a friends ecm later this week to see if that fixes it, but i wanted to see if there is anything else i should be considering/checking at this point.

Thanks!

I would check the cam angle sensor, my friend had the same problem and we had to replace the cam angle sensor. He has a first gen sensor though.

how would i check the cam sensor? I was going to try to change it out to my old one, but it looked like the cam sprocket and timing belt would have to come off....also, is there a way to check whether the crank sensors that I have are good? I just assumed my old one was good since the car was running before the swap.

thanks

You dont have to take the timing belt and sprocket loose, the cam sensor is on the opposite side of the head. At least i never had to when we fixed my friends care
