Spark blowing out or Detonation i can't tell

Hey guys i have a problem with a stutter when boost comes in and spikes to 18-19 lbs then it will usually clear out at 15-16 psi. afr is around 10.4 wideopen timing curve peak is 15 deg. plug gap is .028 ! a couple of my terminals are tarnished green so i cleaned them the best i could.......

try regapping the plugs to .026" and see if that eliminates it. What terminals are you talking about?

i had b8es plugs in it @ 26 and it still done it ! "toofast82" hey man you seem to reply to all my posts, this car is driving me nuts one problem after another, i didn't have this problem till i went over 15 psi ! the coils terminals were the plug wires 2 were tarnished green and they still look alitle green. i am in the proccess of looking for a good used coil to try and i have new spark plug wires ordered !

I would run bpr7es plugs for your boost levels. Definitely get the coil and wires taken care of to see if that does it

yeah i may try some br7es i like the non protruding plugs and i've heard nothing but good things about using them. i'm running a autolite plug right now but its doing the same as the b8es plugs.

I had the same issue you are having. At low boost the car would run fine, leading me to believe it had something to do with fuel/knock. But I ended up replacing my plug wires with new ones (even though my shop and everyone said they were fine) and the problem went away. Unfortunately, with our cars it is hard to pinpoint exact problems without replacing part by part.

Replace the wires and buy BPR7es plugs. Gap them at 0.026 and let us know.

its probably your plug wires. that is my current problem with my car. i get NO knock and it stutters at WOT...

btw at 26psi i would RECOMMEND bpr8es plugs and gap at .026. my setup includes 100% meth and i run 28psi on a holset hx40

Same issue here - ended up being leaky caps on my ECU.

will a stutter/missfire cause timing pull, but the thing is, i turned my boost down a couple pounds to like 14-15 and i couldn't tell if it studdered but it is pulling timing through the run ? heres the log yes it sucks its a 95 eprom !

The numbers out to the side is the timing number s at the rpm in tunerpro !

i think i found the culprit for the miss, 2 of my coil pack terminals are cracked and eat away like it has been jumping spark for a long time so i bought another good one to try. still don't know why its pulling timing !

You're also running way too rich. Lean that thing out to 11.5-11.8. Sounds like you're misfiring though.

i have put my new coil on and at 16 psi it isn't cutting out anymore so i will log it and see what its doing. i'll also lean it out and turn the boost up if it looks like a clean log !

is that just on pump 93 ? i don't have my alcohol kit on yet ! i know i can tune to 12.0-12.5 once that is installed......
