I'm thinking about something like this. I'm an avid golfer so I need to save room for my clubs but I'd be afraid of puncturing the sub. I've tossed around the idea molding a fiberglass peice where the little storage section is, not sure what volume it'd be though. This way I could keep my spare tire and room for my clubs.

Here is a pic of my setup: <a href="http://s580.photobucket.com/albums/ss243/ryan95x/?action=view&current=SL270965.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss243/ryan95x/SL270965.jpg" border="0" alt="Custom Sub Box_2"></a>

I like this setup, i want to do something similar for my 2 12's. How does it sound though? I would rather have a loud ugly setup than a quiet crappy pretty setup.

I built the box for the sub specifically tuned for the car, and then built the rack and faceplate around the box. So with that in mind its probably the cleanest sounding setup I've ever heard. Its extremely loud for one 10" subwoofer, but its not beat'n down your block loud. If you're looking for a relative figure, I'd probably guess in the mid to high 130's DB wise.

Any more pictures with more light and a better angle?

What do you guys think of these or have you used these guys before...?

Custom ECLIPSE Sub Box Speaker Enclosure 95 96 97 98 99 : eBay Motors (item 260557385222 end time May-22-10 14:39:43 PDT)

Custom 95-99 ECLIPSE Sub Box Speaker Enclosure 2G NEW!! - eBay (item 230468101321 end time May-28-10 19:16:20 PDT)

I know the second one is much heavier, but I'm not trying to pull insane track times so I don't really care too much. I'm just curious if anyone has used them so I know that these are quality and hold up... plus which one would you guys choose I'm torn. I have 1 10" JL W1 and I could buy another if needed but if I go to the standup style box I was considering selling the W1 and just putting 1 JL W3 in there...

JL Audio speakers (rear) VR690-CXi.
JL Audio speakers (subs) 10W3v2-D4.
JL Audio wiring XA-PCS2-2.

Enough of all the sub installs. I want to see the real audio!
Where are the high end component setups? Is there anyone else running over 100watts RMS to their 6.5inchers, per channel? Anyone have any interesting tweeter setups?

I'm looking to move towards 4 tweets up front, since my crossover allows such magic, keeping the 6.5" carbon fiber CDT drivers in the front and then I'll be investigating some 4" CDT's specifically for more midbass - likely to replace the stock 6x9's in the rear.

I guess I only posted my sub setup, but I've got my PPI 6 channel running the whole car. Sony components up front, crossovers mounted in the bottom of the door, and alpine 3 ways in the rear.

The tweeters are mounted right by the door handle, the woofer in the stock spot.

I used my old tweeters and hollowed out the bracket piece that hold them up there to fit my new tweeter into so it looked stock.

My tweeter location. It was the best spot I could find to get it aimed at your ears. Tried the stock spot and and the A pillar panel, but this worked best.

i like the idea on the door location. stock location didn't work for you?

It's not that it didn't work. I just figured that since I went through all this work with the 6 channel amp that I might as well set it up as ideal as possible. Stock location relies on bouncing the sound off the windshield where this is more of a direct shot at you.

How do you guys feel about a double din head unit?? Has anyone had one installed and did not like it? I was looking for a "near stock" look.. I like the jvc xr610 model head unit that you can change the color on to match all the gauges.

Hey guys, I just picked up a set of Infinity components, and am still unsure of where to place the tweeters. The two options I am choosing between are the stock dash location, and the side mirror panel. I know the stock location relies on the sound bouncing off the windshield, but I was unsure as to which location would yield better results. Has anyone tried both locations, and could relay their experience?

If the tweeters came with a plastic piece that puts it an angle, I suggest you put them where I did. It's the most direct shot to the ear too. I mocked mine up at first in the sail panel and it didn't seem as good and it also makes the speaker a lot more obvious to any body on the outside looking in. Mine are out of the way and you don't even notice they are there.

My picture is a couple posts up with the tan and black door.

I have the first one (the smaller one with two 10's). It seems to be holding up pretty well. Have had it since the holidays. I have two PG RSDC 104s in it powered by a Nakamichi amp. Theres also a gap in the middle of the box at the bottom, which is a perfect place for the amp. I like it because it saves the majority of the trunk room and gives me more than enough bass with two 10s.

Did you ever end up getting either of them?

Here is my craziest setup I've built.
6-10's and 4 amps
