Just installed the Pioneer avic, and the sound on the radio works, but when I switch it to DVD it'll play video but no sound at all. Then when I plug the ipod in same thing, it shows that it's playing but no sound. I don't have an amp, what am I missing? Any help would be great cause I'm going nuts trying to figure this out.

it probably has a parking brake wire. If it is connected the way its supposed to be, you won't be able to watch or listen to the dvd player without the parking brake engaged.

Find that wire and ground it. Then your DVD will work all the time. Hopefully thats your Ipod problem too, if not that may be the input connections in the back switched around or something.

Let me know what happens with the parking brake wire.

Yeah I ended up figuring it out. I had to connect the remote wire to the antenna wire. I did the Bypass thing which allows you do operate the nav while the car is moving. You just have to ground the e-brake cable and then pull out the mute cable and plug it into a different spot on the harness then ground it.

I had the exact same thing happen to me because I had my amp turn on wire and power antenna wires switched. Glad you fixed it though.
